“Qila Faramoshi” by Fahmida Riaz: An Analysis

Abstract

Fehmida Riaz is the most eminent writer. She is also a famous poet regarding feminism and also a novelist.This article is based on analytical study. "Qila faramoshi" is a historical novel. Its main theme is about theory of communism.The conflict between proletariat and bourgeoisie has been discussed from the Era of "Mazdak". In this article, main themes of the novel has been introduced. It's the pure critical study of "Qila Faramoshi "regarding the historical novel and techniques of fiction. Fehmida Riaz used a new style of "references" to present the story of novel in front of readers. Before, Fehmida many Urdu writers used historical perspectives in fiction like Abdul Haleem Sharar and Naseem Hijazi etc. But Fehmida has its own style to fictionized the history. The rituals, the religious beliefs, the resistance, revolution in Iran are all the metaphors of "Qila Faramoshi". The beginning of Karl Marx Theory can be seen through this fehmida's masterpiece.
